And yet another bicyclist on the same sidewalk. I took these three pictures within a few minutes of each other, early on a Saturday morning. Pedestrians out for recreation use the trail, but for utility trips, pedestrians could make good use of a sidewalk on the east side of the highway. A sidewalk is a poor solution for bicyclists due to the conflicts at driveways and intersections. The Rail Trail, behind the campground, provides a reasonable route for bicyclists whose trip endpoints are on the east side of the highway. A good solution for local bicycle travel on the west side of the highway would be a parallel route -- road or path -- behind the businesses and residences.
